Taking Quality Control To The NEXT Level

Quick Summary

Shafnisky Electric strengthens workmanship through a structured quality-control process. Our electrical services in North Jersey and the Lehigh Valley include multiple layers of accountability.

How Do You Know Your Electrical Work Was Done Right?

We Don’t Assume – We Verify

For electrical work, the details you can’t see can matter just as much as the finished installation. And those unseen details can directly affect the safety of you and your family.

So quality control shouldn’t be treated as a final glance before leaving your home. It should be built into how the work is completed, checked, and reviewed.

At Shafnisky Electric, we’ve recently formalized our quality-control process to strengthen the way our work is checked at every job. Our technicians take ownership of their work, while additional checks help us maintain the superior workmanship standards we expect.

It’s a more deliberate approach to quality, with safeguards designed to catch concerns and help our team continually improve.

We don’t just say we care about the work we do – we prove it through our actions.

Every Technician Is Expected To Sign Off On Their Own Work

Accountability starts with the person performing the work (as it should).

Our technicians now complete a quality-control check as part of every job sheet. Before signing off, they review their installation to ensure it meets our workmanship standards. That includes checking that the installation is straight, level, secure, and neat. They aren’t simply finishing the work and moving on to the next appointment.

Each technician initials the quality-control portion of the job sheet after completing these checks. In a sense, they’re putting their signature on the work they’ve performed.

That added step creates greater personal ownership. When you’re expected to put your name behind your work, you’re also accepting responsibility for the quality you leave behind.

At Shafnisky Electric, that’s exactly the kind of accountability we want built into every job.

Quality Control Goes Beyond How An Installation Looks

Quality workmanship isn’t measured by appearance alone – performance is pivotal.

That’s why our technicians test the equipment, devices, and circuits installed or affected by their work. They verify proper operation and make sure the installation complies with the National Electrical Code.

But our quality-control check doesn’t stop with the electrical system. We also expect the work area to be restored and ready for you before our technicians leave.

Surfaces are wiped down, fingerprints and debris are removed, and the area is vacuumed as needed. Our goal is to leave your space as clean as, or cleaner than, we found it.

Any product information you may need is also left behind, including manuals or QR codes when applicable.

Superior workmanship isn’t just about doing the electrical work correctly. It’s also about taking care of your home while we’re doing it.

A Second Set Of Eyes Adds Another Layer Of Accountability

Even when a technician has carefully checked and signed off on their work, another set of eyes can be valuable.

That’s why our quality-control initiative also includes separate inspections of selected completed jobs. A project manager or another member of our management team returns to review the installation.

During that visit, we inspect the workmanship and test the completed work. We want to verify that everything was completed properly and that it meets the standards we expect of our team.

This inspection also gives us another opportunity to connect with the homeowner.

We can ensure they’re satisfied and address any concerns that may have arisen after the work was completed. This independent review provides another opportunity to catch something that may have been overlooked.

Because when it comes to electrical work, we’re not interested in simply assuming everything was done right. We take additional steps to verify it.

Warranty Callbacks Help Us Improve Our Workmanship

Even with multiple quality checks in place, we’re always looking for opportunities to improve.

Another part of that process focuses on tracking warranty callbacks. If an issue requires us to return, we don’t simply correct it and move on.

Fortunately, callbacks are a rare occurrence for our team. The care our technicians take and the quality-control practices we’ve put in place help us catch concerns before a job is complete.

But when a callback does happen, we review what happened and determine whether a technical error contributed to the problem. That information can then become an opportunity for additional coaching with our technicians.

The purpose isn’t to point fingers. It’s to understand what went wrong so the same mistake is less likely to happen again.

That process helps individual technicians strengthen their skills while raising the standard across our entire team.

At Shafnisky Electric, quality control isn’t only about evaluating the work we’ve already completed. It’s also about using what we learn to deliver even better workmanship moving forward.

Quality Workmanship Is A Commitment We Make Every Day

Superior workmanship doesn’t happen by accident.

It comes from having clear standards and a process that ensures those standards are followed.

Our quality-control initiative gives us a more structured way to put those principles into practice. Most importantly, it helps us deliver the level of exceptional electrical work our customers deserve.

Common Questions About Our Electrical Quality-Control Process

Quality control should give you a better understanding of how your electrical work is checked before and after completion. Here are a few common questions about how Shafnisky Electric puts that accountability into practice.

Does anyone inspect the electrical work after the technician finishes?

Yes. Selected completed jobs receive an additional quality-control inspection from a project manager or another member of management. This provides another set of eyes to review the workmanship, test the completed work, and make sure the homeowner is satisfied.

What does a Shafnisky Electric technician check before signing off on a job?

Our technicians review their installations for workmanship and proper operation. They also verify affected electrical systems have been tested and meet applicable National Electrical Code requirements. Before leaving, they make sure the work area is clean and customer-ready.

What happens if Shafnisky Electric receives a warranty callback?

We track warranty callbacks and review what caused the issue. If a technical error contributed, we can use what happened as a coaching opportunity. This helps our technicians learn from mistakes and reduces the likelihood of the same issue recurring.
