October Is A Month Of Pink For Our Electrical Team
Breast cancer really hits close to home for the Shafnisky family, making it a huge focus for community awareness for our team.
So, for the entire month of October each year, we all wear pink. In 2024, a lot of our electrical service customers jumped on board with us, purchasing our pink hoodies. This allowed us to add even more to our company donation for the year.
At the end of October each year, we take the money we’ve raised throughout the month and donate it to a local organization related to breast cancer awareness or support.
One of our close partnerships has been with Millennia Salon, where Rena Hawk and Esther Courtright founded Strands of Hope.
With deeply personal experiences with breast cancer, both women understand how traumatic the associated hair loss can be. So, they created this specialty boutique where they craft beautiful headwear to help make the process more comfortable.
Another great organization we found to support is a local cleaning company. Individuals facing a cancer diagnosis can turn to this company to have their homes cleaned so they can focus on what matters most – healing and wellness.
December Is Our Annual Pajama Drive
Turning Point is an amazing resource for women and children in need. It’s a place they can go when they need a safe space away from cases of domestic violence.
Many times, when they arrive at Turning Point, all they have is the clothes on their back. It can be a trying situation, especially when small children are involved.
Two of the things they often need the most are pajamas and socks. So, each year, we do a pajama drive to collect items that can be of the most benefit to these families.
With the generosity of our customers and others who donate, these women and children receive this small comfort to help them sleep just a bit better at night.
